No Christmas cards – donations to charity instead!

Thursday, January 19th, 2017

For the last few years we haven’t sent Christmas cards – instead we’ve put the money towards local charities and the most recent Christmas was no different.

The Basement Project in Bromsgrove, New Hope Worcester and Dodford Childrens Holiday Farm received donations from us to fund their ongoing work. Dropping off our donations at New Hope Worcester gave us the chance to visit Jean Wilson at the thriving ’50p Shop’ in Ronkswood – an enterprising initiative for an excellent cause.

Curo’s day at Dodford Childrens’ Holiday Farm

Wednesday, April 17th, 2013

Some of the Curo team spent a very satisfying day at Dodford Childrens’ Holiday Farm, getting stuck in with getting the farm ready for the warmer months.

The farm is based in Worcestershire and was set up to provide inexpensive holidays for children and their families who are in need of a well-earned break. Most of the children who visit Dodford are disadvantaged by their situation and many have special needs. Dodford is one of Curo’s chosen CSR charities and we were keen to help, thrilled at seeing instant results and knowing that it will make for even better holidays for the children.

We got down and dirty with mucking out the animals, preparing the swimming pool and using muscles that don’t usually get a workout at the office! It was great fun and all for such a worthwhile cause.

Dodford is always looking for good quality unwanted toys and assistance. For more info, visit: http://www.dodfordfarm.co.uk/

Curo announces new office charities

Monday, October 8th, 2012

Were thrilled to announce the two causes we’ll be supporting over the next year as part of our ongoing CSR programme. Funny Blood, set up by Ruby Edwards is a Malvern-based not for profit organisation raising awareness of the condition ‘Platelet Function Disorder’.

Our other cause is the Dodford Childrens’ Holiday Farm, offering holidays and short breaks to disadvantaged children.

We’ll be putting our heads together to come up with some fun fundraisers and also provide some hands on help at the farm.

Here’s to another successful year of helping local good causes and having plenty of fun too!
