The number of HMRC investigations into those working via personal service companies doubled last year, with the tax yield in this area having risen fivefold.
Anti avoidance legislation (IR35) is in place to ensure that income caught by the rules is subject to the correct tax and NI and is paid over to the authorities.
The rules have changed slightly recently but with HMRC clamping down in this area, it is vital that you review your arrangements to ensure that you are paying the correct amounts of tax.
