Real Time Information (RTI) has gone live and employers are now required to submit electronic records to HMRC whenever staff are paid. The only exception to this is employers with ewer than 50 staff who will be able to submit monthly records up until October 5 to give them more time to adjust.
Many businesses are opting to outsource their payroll functions to a third party payroll service; however, employers are still required to ensure that all employees’ details are correct (full name, date of birth, address, etc).
