National minimum wage increases from 1 October 2015

Announced back in March this year, the National Minimum Wage hourly rates are set to increase as follows with effect from 1 October 2015:

  • Adult rate – up 20p to £6.70
  • 18 – 20 year olds – up 17p to £5.30
  • 16-17 year olds – up 8p to £3.87
  • Apprentice rate up 57p to £3.30 per hour

It is estimated that more than 1.4 million of Britain’s lowest-paid workers are set to benefit from these increases.
